Role Description The Dean for Engineering, Occupational Therapy, and Physiotherapy will provide academic and administrative leadership across these schools. This full-time, on-site role based in Tiruchirappalli includes overseeing curriculum development, accreditation processes, and continuous improvement of academic programs. The Dean will guide faculty recruitment, mentoring, and performance evaluation, while promoting a culture of inclusive, student-centered teaching and interdisciplinary collaboration. Responsibilities include strategic planning, fostering research initiatives, industry partnerships, and community engagement relevant to engineering and health sciences. The Dean will manage budgets and resources, ensure compliance with regulatory and institutional policies, and represent the schools in internal and external academic forums.

Qualifications

• Advanced academic qualification (preferably PhD) in Engineering, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, or a closely related discipline.
• Proven experience in academic leadership or administration (e.g., Head of Department, Associate Dean, or similar roles) in higher education.
• Track record of teaching excellence and curriculum development in engineering or health sciences programs.
• Demonstrated research output with publications, funded projects, or recognized scholarly contributions.
• Experience with accreditation standards, quality assurance frameworks, and regulatory compliance in higher education.
• Strong skills in strategic planning, resource management, and data-informed decision-making.
• Ability to foster an inclusive academic environment, mentor diverse faculty and students, and support holistic student development.
• Effective communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills for working with industry, community partners, and regulatory bodies.
• Commitment to innovation in teaching and learning, including the use of educational technology and interdisciplinary approaches.
• Prior experience in building partnerships, internships, clinical/industry linkages, and outreach initiatives is highly beneficial.
