Utrecht
The Princess Máxima Centre has initiated the design and construction of a new Cell and Gene Therapy Unit (CGU). In this facility, the manufacturing of Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs) will be the primary focus, with the aim of helping to improve the lives of children with cancer. In addition, the CGU will participate in translational research to strengthen the possibilities of providing treatments to all children, especially those with high risk and difficult to treat cancers.
This internship offers you the opportunity to learn more about an innovative and rapidly growing field. You will join a new facility where manufacturing, quality control and research come together.
The internship
To manufacture ATMPs, the highest standards of manufacturing and quality control are required. This is essential to reduce the risk of contamination from the environment in which the product is produced. Therefore, it is critical to have the necessary controls in place to reduce these risks.
This internship focuses on manufacturing and assay development within the Manufacturing (MFG) and Quality Control (QC) departments of the CGU. You will have the opportunity to learn about the growing field of ATMPs and the importance of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) within this new facility.
In addition, you will develop important skills such as GMP knowledge, critical thinking, accuracy, working independently and working within a team. Would you like to contribute to the important validation processes required for the manufacturing of valuable therapies for children with cancer? Then this internship could be a great opportunity for you.
