The New England Recruiting Report is offering a Fall Semester Basketball Operations Internship for students seeking meaningful, hands-on experience in the industry. This is an immersive opportunity to work directly within one of the most established grassroots basketball platforms in New England and the greater Northeast since 2006, gaining experience across many areas that drive the game behind the scenes. This role will be remote with 90% of the time focused on New Jersey with the other 10% focused on Northeast PA, Staten Island, and Rockland County, New York.

This internship is unpaid and may be structured to help satisfy college internship credit requirements, making it a valuable opportunity for students looking to break into the sports industry.

Rather than being limited to one narrow responsibility, interns will see how the industry operates from multiple angles while working in a fast-paced environment centered around live events.

Interns will have the opportunity to contribute to areas such as:

Marketing & Media: Assist with content strategy, social media coverage, brand growth, and the promotion of events and athletes across NERR platforms.

On-Site Experience: Work directly on-site at events and gain hands-on experience in the live setting, helping with responsibilities such as check-in, setup, organization, player flow, and overall execution.

Operations: Assist with the planning, organization, and execution of basketball events, while learning what it takes to keep showcases and live experiences running smoothly.

Sales & Recruiting: Support outreach efforts to programs and players, help drive event participation, and learn how relationship-building plays a major role in the business side of basketball.

Scouting: Evaluate talent, take player notes, identify standouts, and gain a better understanding of what goes into prospect assessment and coverage.
