Description

Senior QA Engineer — Life Sciences SaaS

Remote — Europe / UK based

We are supporting a search for a Senior QA Engineer within a growing life sciences software and solutions company building complex products for scientific and technical users.

This role is less about routine ticket testing and more about helping the business build proper quality discipline as the platform grows. The product has scientific workflows, API integrations, data-heavy features, user journeys, and technical edge cases that need to be tested properly before they reach customers.

You would be joining at a stage where QA can still have real influence. The company is bringing more engineering capability in-house, so there is room to shape test processes, improve automation, define release readiness, and help engineers catch issues earlier rather than relying on late-stage manual checks.

The work should suit someone who enjoys digging into complex product behaviour, not just checking whether a button works. You would be testing workflows where usability, data accuracy, permissions, reliability, and integration behaviour all matter.

The role will focus on:

  • Building and improving QA processes as the engineering team scales
  • Creating clear test plans for core product workflows and new features
  • Running functional, regression, smoke, exploratory, and end-to-end testing
  • Developing automated tests for important user journeys and API behaviour
  • Testing service integrations, backend workflows, permissions, and data flows
  • Working with developers to understand defects properly, not just report them
  • Helping define release readiness criteria and improving confidence before deployment
  • Spotting quality risks early across complex scientific and technical workflows

We are looking for someone with:

  • Strong QA experience across SaaS, web platforms, or technical software products
  • Hands-on experience with test automation for UI and/or API testing
  • Good understanding of API testing, integrations, backend workflows, and end-to-end user journeys
  • Experience with functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and how testing fits into modern software delivery
  • Scripting or programming ability in Python, JavaScript, or similar
  • Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to edge cases
  • Clear communication with engineers, product teams, and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to have:

  • Experience with PyTest, Cypress, Selenium, Playwright, Postman, or similar tools
  • SQL or database validation experience
  • Performance, load, or reliability testing experience
  • Exposure to cloud-based products, containers, or modern deployment workflows
  • Experience testing scientific, healthcare, biotech, pharma, regulated, or data-heavy software
  • Familiarity with permissions, auditability, data integrity, analytical workflows, or computational results

This is a good fit for someone who wants ownership, but still wants to stay hands-on. The company does not just need someone to execute test cases; they need someone who can help raise the quality bar and make testing more systematic as the product and team mature.

Apply here, or if you know someone from your network who works around QA automation, SaaS testing, regulated software, or complex technical platforms, please let me know.
