Main tasks:

  • Implements and monitors the HSE Romanian legal requirements (Romanian = SSM, SU and Environment) and Hitachi Rail Group policies, objectives and procedures for all activities performed by Hitachi Rail Romania on external sites operating in Romania;
  • Implementing and maintaining the integrated management system for Environment-SSM-Energy (ISO14001-ISO45001-ISO50001) in your designated area of responsibility.
  • Maintains regulatory compliance and keeps associated records in order to prove compliance;
  • Contributes to health and safety hazard identification and risk assessment for Hitachi Rail Romania activities related to external sites;
  • Contributes to edit and update of specific HSE instructions for site related activities;
  • Performs the introductory Health & Safety and Fire prevention training sessions according to the Romanian legal requirements;
  • Creating and perform training materials for all phases and ensuring workers receive adequate safety and health training tailored to their roles.
  • Provides support for middle management positions (site managers) to prepare and perform their specific level of Health & Safety and Fire prevention training sessions, according to Romanian legal requirements;
  • Performs periodical check-ups upon the employees' HSE knowledge;
  • Keeps under control the work related medical asessment process (RO = medicina muncii)
  • Identifies the necessary PPE for external sites and follows up the purchasing and distriution of necessary items to the HITACHI RAIL ROMANIA employees on external sites;
  • Coordinates waste management on external sites for HITACHI RAIL ROMANIA activity;
  • Performs internal audits and/or inspections/check-ups over Hitachi Rail Romania external sites operating in Romania; suggests corrective and preventive actions and follows-up the outcome of these actions;
  • Reports and contributes to investigation of HSE incidents/accidents on external sites, according with legal (Romanian) and Corporate requirements;
  • Acts as a contact person in relationship with the Main Contractor and Subcontractors HSE responsibles, as well as with the external site Coordinator;
  • Acts as contact person in relationship with Romanian H&S, Fire prevention and Environment Authorities.
  • Completing tasks assigned by the EHS Manager or EHS Management Representative

Education requirements:

  • University level education – technical or civil works domain, Bachelor's degree.
  • HS responsible certified training course (RO = Inspector SSM – curs 80 ore)
  • Fire prevention certified training course (RO = Cadru tehnic PSI)

Experience and skills:

  • Education in a technical field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as HSE responsible (RO = lucrator desemnat SSM si SU)
  • At least 3 years of experience in the industrial/projects field, preferably in the railway industry.
  • Strong knowledge in Romanian H&S and fire prevention law and regulations
  • Good computer skills – office applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power-Point, Outlook, etc.);
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
