ZB Life Assurance Limited, a subsidiary of ZB Financial Holdings is looking for a results-driven finance professional with strong technical accounting skills and a passion for delivering financial excellence. The Financial Accountant will play a key role in financial reporting, regulatory compliance, budgeting, and strategic financial management.
Key Responsibilities
As the Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for:
- Managing the General Ledger, including monthly reconciliations and audit file preparation.
- Preparing monthly management accounts, financial reports, and variance analyses.
- Producing quarterly Board Packs and regulatory returns for IPEC.
- Preparing half-year and year-end consolidation packs and statutory financial statements.
- Coordinating internal and external audits and ensuring timely resolution of audit matters.
- Preparing annual IPEC returns and supporting regulatory compliance.
- Managing supplier, tax, and regulatory payments.
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Monitoring daily cash flows and providing actionable financial insights.
- Conducting financial and competitive analysis, benchmarking, and performance reporting.
- Overseeing fund accounting, portfolio reconciliations, and agent financial workflows.
- Providing sound financial advice to support business decision-making.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate should possess:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- A professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CIS, or ICAZ (an added advantage).
- At least 3 years' relevant experience, preferably within the life assurance or financial services industry.
- A minimum of 1 year's supervisory or managerial experience.
- Strong analytical, financial reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
- Sound knowledge of accounting standards, financial regulations, and regulatory reporting.
