Role : Senior Desktop Support Engineer (Windows 10 to 11 Upgrade)

Position : W2 Contract

Experience : 5+ Years

Location : Fremont , CA - Onsite

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Windows 10 to Windows 11 upgrades on laptops and desktops
  • Provide onsite desktop support for end users during and after migration
  • Troubleshoot OS, hardware, and application-related issues
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, and peripherals
  • Ensure data backup and integrity before performing upgrades
  • Track and update asset and upgrade status reports
  • Coordinate with IT teams for escalation and issue resolution
  • Deliver excellent customer support and communication

Lead Responsibilities (For Lead Role Only)

  • Manage and coordinate upgrade activities across all locations
  • Assign tasks and monitor progress of desktop support engineers
  • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders
  • Ensure project timelines, quality, and SLA adherence
  • Provide reporting on project status, risks, and completion metrics

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong experience in Windows OS upgrades (Windows 10 to Windows 11)
  • Hands-on experience in desktop/laptop support and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of hardware, drivers, and system configurations
  • Familiarity with ticketing tools (e.g., ServiceNow or similar)
  • Good understanding of networking basics (LAN/Wi-Fi, VPN)
  • Strong communication and user support skills

Experience Requirements

  • Lead Desktop Support Engineer: 5+ years of experience with team handling

Project Details

  • Total Devices: 1,149 (Laptops + Desktops)
  • Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (Onsite)
  • Location Requirement: Candidates must be willing to work from client locations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in large-scale OS migration projects
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator (preferred)
  • Experience working in enterprise IT environments
