ZB Financial Holdings is inviting suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the position of Manager – Banking Systems. The successful candidate will lead the operations, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the core banking system and related peripheral applications, ensuring that technology services support One ZB’s strategic business objectives, operational resilience, and service excellence.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and implement the core banking systems strategy in alignment with ONE ZB and business unit objectives.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, performance, and availability of the core banking system and peripheral applications.
- Champion the implementation of effective operational procedures, maintenance processes, controls, and support tools.
- Lead the planning, testing, deployment, and monitoring of system patches, upgrades, and enhancements.
- Drive operational efficiency by redesigning, developing, and automating complex banking processes and manual workflows using appropriate automation tools and Artificial Intelligence solutions.
- Lead query resolution, fault diagnosis, root-cause analysis, and the implementation of short- and long-term operational solutions.
- Manage vendor relationships, including level three escalations, support performance, and service delivery expectations.
- Define, implement, monitor, and achieve service level agreements with vendors and other third-party service providers.
- Implement and maintain core systems backup processes, procedures, and controls.
- Coordinate disaster recovery and business continuity activities for banking applications.
- Lead, supervise, coach, and manage operations and maintenance staff to ensure high performance and accountability.
- Manage the operations and maintenance budget, with particular focus on operational expenditure control.
- Work collaboratively within a matrix structure with other ONE ZB managers to deliver strategic business objectives.
- Perform any other relevant duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant Masters' qualification is desirable.
- At least four years’ experience in software development and architecture planning, three of which should be in banking, financial services, or a similar regulated environment at a managerial or leadership level.
- Proven experience in enterprise applications deployment, support, and operations.
- Project Management Professional certification or equivalent project management qualification.
- IT Service Management certification, such as ITIL would be an added advantage
- Relevant software development certification or demonstrated proficiency in Java, C#, or related technologies a distinct advantage.
