The Sales Controller is a strategic business partner to our Sales organization, helping drive profitable growth through financial insight, commercial analysis, and performance management. This role combines strong analytical capabilities with commercial acumen, supporting key customer decisions, pricing strategies, forecasting, and profitability improvement.
You will work closely with Sales, Finance, and customers to ensure sound business decisions, identify risks and opportunities, and strengthen commercial performance across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze customer and business performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to improve profitability.
• Support commercial decision-making through financial analysis, business cases, and data-driven recommendations.
• Lead pricing and profitability assessments, including price changes, cost recovery initiatives, and customer claims.
• Prepare and challenge sales forecasts, budgets, and financial assumptions to ensure realistic business planning.
• Monitor commercial KPIs, turnover, margins, and revenue performance, providing clear reporting to management.
• Partner with Sales and Finance teams to ensure accurate revenue reporting and financial governance.
• Support negotiations with customers by providing robust financial analysis and commercial insights.
• Review commercial agreements and customer financial conditions to protect business value and profitability.
• Drive continuous improvement of reporting processes, performance transparency, and commercial governance.
• Act as a trusted advisor to Sales leadership on financial and commercial
performance.
Skills We are looking for:
• 10+ years of experience in a commercial controlling, finance, sales controlling, or business analysis role within an industrial manufacturing
• Automotive industry experience is an advantage, but not essential.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and
• Proven experience working directly with customers and supporting commercial discussions.
• Excellent negotiation and influencing skills, with confidence to challenge assumptions using data.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, pricing, profitability analysis, and financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across international, cross-functional teams.
• Fluent English.
