Description

Dustphotonics, now part of Credo, develops cutting-edge technology in Silicon Photonics which is revolutionizing connectivity and communication in data centers.

Silicon photonics is becoming a standard technology used for high performance systems, solving challenges of performance, integration, power and cost.

This technology is growing rapidly also in other markets such as Healthcare, LIDARs and other sensors.

We are looking to solve the difficult problems, in a smart and simple way, by thinking out of the box, leveraging the knowledge and know-how of the team members and work as team to create Magic.

Our Company culture is characterized by accountability for our ethics, for being fair to every employee, customer, supplier and partner.

We believe we must work hard and have fun on the way to success.

We welcome you to join our team - Apply for your next career opportunity with us!

We are seeking a Senior Experimental Physicist to drive the development of CREDO’s next-generation laser-based silicon photonics platforms.

In this role, you will bridge the gap between design and physical realization, owning the integration, characterization and optimization of semiconductor lasers with silicon photonic integrated circuits (PICs).

You will design advanced experiments, build state-of-the-art electro-optical testing infrastructure, and leverage data-driven insights to push the boundaries of device performance and yield.

Responsibilities:

· Develop CREDO’s Laser testing platform capabilities and automation, Conduct Experiments and analyze test results to advance the development of new products.

· Own the critical interface and integration path between semiconductor lasers (e.g., III-V/DFB) and silicon photonic devices. Drive cross-functional efforts to optimize coupling efficiency, electro-optical performance and reliability.

· Utilize systematic Design of Experiments (DOE) to identify performance bottlenecks, improve device yield, and transition prototypes to robust, high-volume manufacturable products.

· Lead root-cause failure analysis investigations for active silicon photonic devices, collaborating with fabrication and packaging teams to implement corrective actions.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

· 5–10 years of hands-on R&D experience in a multidisciplinary, high-tech industrial environment (silicon photonics or semiconductor laser industry preferred).

· Hands-on experience with design and assembly of custom electro-optical test and measurement stations.

· Strong proficiency in statistical data analysis, DOE principles, and statistical software tools (e.g., JMP, MATLAB, or Pandas/SciPy).

Desired Skills (Nice to Have)

· Experience with sub-micron active alignment systems and optical packaging processes.

· Familiarity with photonics and optics simulation tools (e.g., Lumerical, RSoft, Z-max)

· proven programming skills (Python highly preferred) for test automation, instrument control and data acquisition.

Education:

· MS/PhD
