Accountant – Gold & Jewellery Trading (Dubai)

Role Description The Accountant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Dubai. The accountant will manage day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing invoices, monitoring cash flow, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with monthly and annual closing activities. The role also involves preparing basic financial reports, supporting audits, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, and coordinating with internal teams to resolve accounting discrepancies. The accountant will collaborate with management to provide financial insights that support operational and strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in general accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial record-keeping.
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoicing in a retail or trading environment.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel, with the ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
• Knowledge of basic financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with sales, operations, and management teams.
• Relevant accounting qualification or degree (e.g., Accounting, Finance, or related field); professional certification is an advantage.
• Prior experience in the jewelry, precious metals, or retail industry is compulsory.
