Role Objective
• Ensure the management of planning, organizing, resourcing, leading and controlling the Flight Operations Engineering Section for the purpose of accomplishing all the tasks associated with the company’s aircraft Performance Engineering, Technical documentation & Operational Planning in smooth & efficient manner by meeting the regulatory & safety requirements.
• To assist &coordinate with fleet office/VP-FO/FH-OP to achieve departmental objectives & Organizational goals.
• To comply with all Regulatory Audits, Internal Quality Audits, IOSA and any other Audits related to the section.
Area of responsibility
1. Effectively manage all activities of the Flight Operation Engineering & ensure adherence to all operational, regulatory and administrative requirements.
2. Ensure that there is control, accountability, and planning within the Flight Operations Engineering team.
3. Able to develop, understand and interpret fleet technical support data and provide such guidance to the Flight Operations Engineering team to ensure quality control of the data.
4. Ensure the supply of revised Aircraft performance data for all phases of flight (Take-off, En-route and Landing) is maintained for company fleet using manufacturer supplied manuals and tools.
5. Ensure that the coordination with manufacturers/Engineering department/internal & external
stakeholders in respect to Performance engineering and fleet technical support issues is carried out on regular basis to contribute achieving safety and operational efficiency and ensure compliance to all regulatory Audits (Internal/external), IOSA/any other audits related with the Flight Operations Engineering.
6. Ensure EFB-OPT/Flysmart performance administration&dataflow is in compliance with safety/regulatory requirements.
7. Address the training needs of Flight Dispatch/Induction pilots.
8. To undertake Performance Engineering projects such as (but not limited to) new aircraft evaluation, payload effectiveness, route study/analysis, aircraft suitability for network airports, etc.…
9. Lead and direct Flight Operations Engineering team to Ensure that pilot’s voyage reports related to Operations Engineering/Technical documentation issues are dealt on regular basis.
10. To assist & coordinate with the fleet offices to disseminate operational/technical information.
11. Establish the departure contingency procedures (EO-SIDs) in coordination with vendors/fleet office.
12. Establish the fleet specific procedures for enroute contingencies such as Engine failure/drift-down, decompression and provide guidance to the operating crew for the applicable routes.
13. Ensure content development and updating of OM-B/OM-C/SOM & sectional manuals and coordination with the regulatory bodies is well in place.
14. Identify, develop and implement new technology and opportunities for improvement of operational processes and efficiency.
15. Conceptual understanding of Aircraft operational procedures and analysis to provide the scenario-based solutions using Engineering and analytical skills.
16. Perform duties as assigned by the management to achieve department and company objectives.
17. Configuration of Flight planning tools to ensure correct performance data is maintained.
18. Ensure Flight Operations Engineering tasks such as equipage compliance, electronic charting needs, tailored content demands are addressed in a timely manner.
19. Perform any other related tasks as assigned by the Management.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering in any field or Aviation Science or Aviation Engineering with Minimum 08 years of relevant experience in Flight Operations Engineering Or Specialized certificate / license in the related field in Flight Operations Engineering / Performance Engineering of which 04 years in Supervisory capacity in Aircraft Performance Engineering.
Special Skills & Knowledge
Professional expertise (subject matter expertise) in Flight Operations Engineering domain, trainings at Manufacturer and/or Airline level, demonstrated track record of commercial airline exposure in Flight Operations Engineering/Performance engineering, Technical Documentation.
Abilities of mathematical/analytical nature and capability to provide engineering solutions to Flight Operations Technical issue, logical thinking
Project Management skills-Time management, problem solving, critical thinking)
Thorough understanding of the Performance Engineering tools/software features to analyse /generate reports Leadership qualities.
