Position Summary
Under direction from the Sr. Regulatory Manager, this role will lead formula regulatory supporting product innovation, line extensions and reformulation; including regulatory review, claims review and approval, artwork approval and US/Canada OTC product registration. Must be highly collaborative with a high-performance team mindset and work seamlessly across business functions and external partners.
Responsibilities
- Formula regulatory review, coordinating with R&D and manufacturers.
- Claims review and approval, collaborating with R&D, PD and cross-functional teams.
- Artwork review and approval, partnering with creative.
- Lead product registration OTC products/medical devices, interfacing with Health Canada and the US FDA.
- Liaise with internal/external QA to support OTC site and API registrations.
- Participate in trade associations to keep updated on cosmetic, OTC and packaging related regulations, and collaborating cross-functionally to execute actions require.
- Manage Regulatory related questions from retailers.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years’ experience in the cosmetic industry in a Regulatory Affairs role.
- A science background (BS degree or higher) required.
- Understanding and knowledge of cosmetic product regulatory requirements with an emphasis on color cosmetics and skin care, inclusive of ingredient, labeling, claims and registration.
- Knowledge and experience in the US/Canada OTC Regulatory framework requirements for ingredients, finished products, claims, packaging, and artwork requirements.
- Highly collaborative. Works well individually and in a team environment to achieve results that move the business forward.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Exhibits effective communication skills, both written and orally.
- Comfortable learning and working with web-based databases and submission portals.
- Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, Adobe and PowerPoint.
- Must be self-motivated and capable of multi-tasking.
- Commitment to accuracy, diligence and quality of information output.
- Willing to travel domestically, as required.
