Your Next Challenge

Reporting to the General Supervisor, Mine, you will be part of the Mine Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the environment.

  • Actively dispatch resources, taking various factors into account from multiple sources of information, to achieve optimal performance and meet daily objectives, safely and as planned;
  • Monitor production and assist field supervisors in shift decision making;
  • Operate various equipment from the surface. (Ventilation, pumping systems, and others);
  • Verify that all practices and procedures are performed with respect to the defined regulations;
  • Take over accountability officer role in the event of a mine emergency. (Public announcement, Stench gas release, guide mine personnel to the nearest safe area, proceed to headcount on tag board.);
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of all technology (Fleet management system, mine equipment automation, mine scheduling software, active dispatching, etc.);
  • Perform all other duties as requested by the management team.

What You Need To Succeed

  • Mining technical degree or relevant experience in mine dispatching;
  • 2 years of Underground experience;
  • Computer skills to operate multiple software’s (Office suites, SIC, FMS, HMI, Planner);
  • Mine operation supervision experience is an asset;
  • Previous mine hauling experience is an asset;
  • Basic mechanical knowledge is an asset;
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment;
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, with an ability to motivate and work in a team environment;
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure;
  • Excellent safety habits, safety conscious and display safe work practices.

Note that the official working language at Meadowbank Complex is English.

Your Work Schedule

  • Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
  • Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
