Job Description - Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a compassionate, autonomous, and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our private practice team for a vital senior's outreach initiative. This community-based role focuses on supporting the aging population in Calgary, specifically delivering specialized mental health screening, general wellness assessments, and safety interventions.

As a contractual partner, you will enjoy a highly competitive 70% fee split and the ultimate flexibility of part-time hours, with the seamless ability to scale up your caseload and pick up more hours as the program expands.

Role Responsibilities

In-Home Outreach: Travel within the Calgary area to visit seniors in their home environments.

Comprehensive Assessments: Conduct initial holistic screenings, focusing on mental health status, cognitive function, physical health, and overall well-being.

Safety & Environmental Risk Screening: Evaluate the patients' living environment to identify safety hazards, vulnerabilities, and support gaps.

Care Planning & Recommendations: Based on your professional clinical findings, design and implement strategic recommendations, care plans and resource connections aimed at keeping seniors safe, independent, and thriving at home.

Collaborative Practice: Work independently in the field while maintaining collaborative alignment with our private practice network to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications/Requirements

Active Registration: Current, unencumbered registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)

Clinical Expertise: Solid background in Mental Health nursing and/or Geriatric care is highly preferred. Experience conducting formal clinical assessments is essential.

Autonomous Mindset: Strong clinical judgement, excellent critical thinking, and the ability to work independently in a community setting.

Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills to build trust with seniors, their families, and community stakeholders.

Logistics: Must possess a valid driver's license, reliable vehicle for community travel and appropriate independent practice liability insurance.
