PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Are you passionate about delivering exceptional HR service in a dynamic, fast-paced environment? Do you excel in providing solutions, supporting employee relations, and championing best practices? If so, we want you to be part of our team. As a HR Generalist, you’ll be instrumental in helping our HR team provide a world-class service to our employees and stakeholders. You will serve as the go-to for HR inquiries, ensuring smooth HR operations across our locations. This role will be based in our Logistics Hub in Runnymede, supporting circa 650 employees across 9 locations. This role supports the team for 21 hours per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Employee Relations: Act as the primary contact for HR-related queries, providing guidance and escalating complex issues to the HR Advisor/Manager.
  • HR Guidance: Offer clear, prompt advice on investigations, disciplinaries, and grievances, drafting supporting correspondence as needed.
  • HRIS: Maintain accurate employee records and ensure data integrity.
  • Attendance Support: Take responsibility for timely intervention and ongoing management of Long-Term Sickness cases, including arranging and attending home visits where applicable.
  • Performance & Development: Partner with managers to support employee growth, development, and performance management.
  • Ethos: Champion a culture of accountability, empowerment, and continuous improvement within operational teams. Promote the Brand Values through day-to-day interactions and coaching, ensuring they remain embedded in decision making and leadership behaviour.
  • Compliance Audits: Ensure regular system audits are completed, maintaining right-to-work records, occupational health referrals, and compliance with pay and contractual obligations.
  • Policy Consistency: Uphold and share best practices in policy application, working collaboratively to maintain compliance with current legislation.

YOUR PROFILE:

  • Previous experience as a HR generalist/Senior Administrator within a team environment.
  • Good understanding of current employment legislation
  • A positive, resilient attitude with the ability to thrive under pressure.
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
  • A confident, professional approach, quickly establishing credibility with stakeholders.
  • Friendly, approachable, and a clear communicator (written & verbal).
  • Exceptional planning, organisational and time management skills
  • CIPD Associate / Graduate Membership or actively working towards.
  • Advanced Excel skills, knowledge of SAP or Kronos desirable but not essential.
