Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities Of The Job

This position will play a key role in the global Center of Excellence (COE) dedicated to fixed asset accounting, supporting the accounting and financial reporting for global fixed assets. This role is responsible for managing capitalized costs, including fixed assets, capitalized salaries, and cloud-based system implementation costs in accordance with US GAAP. This role will partner with regional finance and operations to ensure accurate capitalization and depreciation, support compliance activities, and enable value-added reporting to leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting for Fixed Assets, Cloud System Implementation Costs, and Capitalized Salaries

• Prepare periodic reporting to financial management related to global approved capital requests, capital spend by project, cloud system implementation cost additions, and assets placed into service with associated useful lives.
• Prepare monthly reconciliation of the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger.
• Prepare information for 10-Q and 10-K reporting, such as global asset roll forwards and other information as needed.
• Prepare periodic reporting to financial management related to global approved capital requests, capital spend by project, cloud system implementation cost additions.
• Support FP&A with forecasts of depreciation.
• Prepare information for 10-Q and 10-K reporting, such as global asset roll forwards and other information as needed.
• Prepare reporting on loss-making stores to be used as a basis for global annual store impairment testing (or more often if indicators exist).
• Test and implement new asset-related technology as it becomes available, such as project-level forecasting in SAC.

Extended scope

• Develop cross-functional expertise through structured cross-training within the Lease Accounting vertical to enable operational flexibility and business continuity.
• Provide backup and transitional support to the Lease accounting team, including assistance with accounting, reconciliations, reporting, and process improvement activities as required.

Business Partnership & Continuous Improvement

• Document standard operating procedures (SOP’s).
• Support process improvement initiatives and system enhancements within the capitalization process.

Stakeholder Management

• Prepare support for internal and external audit requests.
• Execute fixed asset-related SOX controls.

Experience

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• 2+ years experience in accounting. Retail or multi-location industry experience preferred.
• Experience with fixed asset management

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• CA/ CPA preferred

Skills

• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SOX regulations, and global finance operating models. IFRS a plus.
• Proficiency with ERP and forecasting systems (SAP and SAC preferred)
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills; familiarity with Power BI or similar tools a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work across global teams
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced multi-national retail environment
