Senior Brand Designer

Abaxx Technologies

United States

Description

Role Overview

The Senior Brand Designer is responsible for defining and maintaining a unified visual identity across the Abaxx platform ecosystem — spanning web applications, mobile, desktop, AI products, and enterprise tooling. This role sits at the intersection of brand thinking and product design systems, translating visual identity into developer-ready standards that engineering teams can implement consistently and at scale. The ideal candidate brings direct experience with complex digital products, understands how design systems operate in engineering workflows, and can hold the line on visual consistency across a rapidly evolving multi-platform environment.

This is a hands-on, high-ownership role. The Senior Brand Designer owns the Abaxx design language end-to-end — from typography, color, spacing, and iconography through to component guidelines, motion standards, and cross-platform implementation documentation. They work closely with engineering to ensure accurate implementation, contribute to executive and investor materials, and partner with product and leadership to evolve the visual identity as the platform matures. The right candidate can move fluidly between a brand strategy conversation and a Figma component review, and understands that in a technical product environment, design quality is only as good as its implementability.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Abaxx design language end-to-end, serving as the single accountable owner of visual consistency across every product surface — web, mobile, desktop, AI products, and enterprise tooling.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive brand and product style guides that function as live reference documents for both design and engineering teams.
  • Build and maintain scalable design systems and component libraries, including design tokens, spacing systems, iconography, typography, color, and motion standards, structured for direct use in engineering workflows.
  • Partner directly with engineering leads to ensure accurate implementation of design standards — the design system should enable developers to ship correct UI without requiring ongoing design intervention.
  • Create developer-facing design documentation that eliminates ambiguity before implementation begins, including component specifications, interaction patterns, and responsive design guidelines.
  • Define and enforce visual identity standards across platforms, ensuring coherence across products that are being built simultaneously by different teams.
  • Contribute to executive presentations, investor materials, and platform branding, maintaining the same standard of visual quality across internal and external-facing work.
  • Work closely with product and leadership to evolve the Abaxx visual identity as products mature, balancing brand consistency with the practical realities of a fast-moving platform environment.
  • Assist with product UX direction and interface refinement where needed, with a bias toward systemic solutions over one-off fixes.
  • Establish accessibility standards (WCAG) as a baseline requirement across all design output, not a post-hoc review.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional branding, product design, or visual systems experience, with a track record of shipping design systems in complex digital product environments.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating brand systems, digital product design, modern UI/UX work, and design system creation across multiple platforms or surfaces.
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining design token systems, with a clear understanding of how tokens translate into engineering implementation.
  • Demonstrated experience embedding design systems directly into engineering workflows — component libraries, developer-facing documentation, and frontend collaboration, not just Figma files handed over a wall.
  • Experience creating developer-facing design documentation and style guides that engineering teams can execute against without significant design intervention.
  • Strong working knowledge of typography, layout systems, color theory, interaction design, and responsive design principles.
  • Proficiency with Figma and Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with modern product design workflows and version-controlled design systems.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including engineering leads, product managers, and executive leadership.
  • Working knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards, applied as a baseline across design output rather than a post-hoc review.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with any of the following is highly valuable:

  • Enterprise SaaS product design
  • Financial technology or infrastructure platforms
  • AI product branding and interfaces
  • Motion design and interaction systems
  • TailwindCSS-based design systems
  • Frontend collaboration with React or TypeScript teams
  • Cross-platform application design (web, desktop, mobile)
  • Branding for technical or developer-focused products
