Head of Software Quality

Omada

Warsaw

Description

Define what “good enough to ship” means for the platform that secures the world’s identities.

Location: Warsaw, Poland or Alicante, Spain

Working model: Hybrid (3 days/week in office)

Reports to: CTO

Organization: R&D (~100 people)

Own the bar that everything ships against

For a company whose vision is to secure the world’s identities, quality isn’t a checkpoint at the end - it’s the promise we make to every customer. With CI/CD pipelines releasing daily, a cloud platform shipping every six weeks, major on-premises releases three times a year, and hotfixes that have to be right the first time, the quality bar must be clear, measurable, and trusted by everyone. You own that bar.

At Omada, a global leader in Identity Governance and Administration, we’re building one of the most advanced SaaS security platforms in the industry. Reporting directly to our CTO, you’ll define and own the quality strategy, standards, and testing discipline across our 10+ scrum teams and ~100-person R&D organization, spanning both our cloud and on-premises products. You’ll also lead our Test Automation Developers - currently embedded within the scrum teams - with the mandate to shape how test automation is organised, including the opportunity to bring them together as a dedicated quality function.

You’ll work hand in hand with our Release Manager: you own the quality of the software, while they own the quality and execution of the release process. Together you make releases that are both dependable and predictable.

This is a high-visibility leadership role where your standards, your judgment, and your ability to influence directly shape the reliability customers trust their identities to.

What you’ll own

  • Lead and shape the test automation discipline. Lead, develop, and mentor our Test Automation Developers - today part of the scrum teams - and help define how the discipline is best organised to raise the quality bar across the whole organization.
  • Define and own the quality strategy and standards across 10+ teams and both our cloud and on-premises products - and make sure they’re understood, adopted, and lived by every team.
  • Own the quality gates and release-readiness criteria - the bar every release must clear - in close partnership with the Release Manager and engineering leadership.
  • Drive the test strategy end to end - automation, coverage, regression, integration, performance, and security testing - so quality scales with the pace of delivery.
  • Embed quality into CI/CD. Champion shift-left practices and automated testing inside the pipelines, so issues are caught early and feedback is fast.
  • Make quality measurable. Define, track, and report the KPIs that matter - defect escape rate, test coverage, release quality, time-to-detect - and turn them into action.
  • Champion quality across every team. Embed a culture where quality is owned by everyone and built in from the start, not inspected in at the end.
  • Lead defect management and root-cause analysis. Run post-release quality reviews and post-mortems and close the loop so the same issue never ships twice.
  • Drive continuous improvement of QA processes, tooling, and transparency across the engineering organization.

What you’ll bring

  • 8+ years in QA, quality, or test engineering, including experience leading or managing test/QA engineers, within a cloud software environment - with a track record of raising quality across complex systems or services.
  • Exceptional communicator - confident and clear in writing and in person, across multiple levels of business and technical leadership. Influence is at the heart of this role.
  • Strong test automation background - you understand modern automation frameworks and how to build a test strategy that scales.
  • Deep understanding of testing disciplines - functional, regression, integration, performance, and security testing - and when each one matters.
  • Experience embedding quality into CI/CD pipelines, with a shift-left mindset.
  • Experience with a modern test-management and CI/CD toolchain - we use Azure DevOps, but equivalent tools are just as welcome.
  • Metrics-driven - you make quality visible with data and use it to drive decisions.
  • Comfortable in Agile, multi-team environments and experienced working with distributed teams across locations and time zones.
  • Self-directed, adaptable, and energized by complexity - detail-oriented, yet able to see the bigger picture and identify what truly matters.

Nice to have:

  • Experience owning quality for on-premises software alongside cloud
  • A recognized testing certification (e.g. ISTQB)
  • Exposure to scaled-agile ways of working (e.g. SAFe)
  • A background or interest in the cybersecurity domain
  • A master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

You won’t tick every box on this list, and that’s completely fine. If you bring strong quality leadership and most of the above, we’d love to hear from you.
