About the Role
We are looking for a sharp, execution-oriented Business Manager to join the Merchant Experience team within the Soundbox business. This role sits at the intersection of Product, Data Science, and Operations — owning business KPIs end-to-end and driving measurable outcomes for merchant experience and device performance.
What You'll Own
- - Business KPIs — Own and drive metrics around merchant experience (activation, engagement, satisfaction) and Soundbox device performance (uptime, connectivity, transaction success rates)
- - Cross-functional execution — Work with Product, Data Science, and Operations teams to define priorities, align on solutions, and deliver outcomes at pace
- - Independent initiative leadership — Identify gaps, size opportunities, and drive initiatives from zero to one without waiting for direction
- - Data-driven decision making — Deep-dive into data to surface insights, define hypotheses, and measure impact of interventions
Key Responsibilities
- - Define and track KPIs for merchant experience and device health; own the performance narrative with stakeholders
- - Partner with the product team to translate merchant pain points into feature requirements and prioritization inputs
- - Work with data science to build models, dashboards, and alerting systems that surface actionable merchant and device signals
- - Lead operational reviews, identify friction points in the merchant journey, and close gaps through structured problem-solving
- - Drive A/B tests, pilots, and rollouts; own the pre/post analysis and iteration loop - Build business cases for new initiatives and present recommendations to senior leadership
Who You Are:
Qualifications
- - B.Tech from IIT / NIT (mandatory)
- - MBA from a Tier-1 institute (preferred)
- - 4–7 years of total work experience in product management, business analytics, or strategy roles — preferably in fintech, payments, or consumer/merchant-facing products
Must-Have Skills
- - SQL — strong querying skills to independently pull, slice, and analyze data without dependency on analysts
- - Strong product thinking with the ability to connect user problems to business outcomes - Comfort operating in ambiguity; ability to structure problems and drive clarity - Excellent stakeholder management and communication — can align cross-functional teams and influence without authority
Good to Have
- - Experience with merchant-facing products or devices (POS, IoT, payment hardware) - Familiarity with experimentation frameworks (A/B testing, holdout groups) - Exposure to data science workflows (model inputs, feature logic, monitoring)
