Position Overview

ISG is seeking a senior, sales-driven Business Development Executive to accelerate growth within our Manufacturing industry practice. This is a high-impact, quota-carrying hunter role focused on originating and closing net-new client relationships with global and mid-market Manufacturing organizations.

You will leverage your industry expertise, executive network, and consultative selling skills to position ISG’s capabilities across digital transformation, cloud, automation, sourcing, and IT strategy.

This role is ideal for a proven consulting sales leader who thrives in building business from scratch, shaping complex deals, and operating with a high degree of autonomy.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Net-New Revenue Growth (Primary Focus)
  • Originate, develop, and close net-new consulting engagements within Manufacturing accounts
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities aligned to revenue targets
  • Execute proactive outreach strategies, including executive networking, targeted prospecting, and market mapping
  • Lead end-to-end deal cycles from initial engagement through contract execution
  • Engage Senior Client Stakeholders
  • Establish and grow relationships with C-level and senior executives (CIO, CTO, COO, CFO)
  • Lead early-stage, consultative sales conversations to uncover business and technology needs
  • Position ISG as a trusted advisor across digital transformation and sourcing strategy
  • Shape and Close Complex Deals
  • Structure and negotiate large, multi-dimensional consulting engagements
  • Develop compelling business cases, financial models, and proposals
  • Lead responses to RFPs and competitive pursuits, differentiating ISG’s value
  • Expand Market Presence
  • Identify and penetrate whitespace and competitive accounts
  • Contribute to industry thought leadership and go-to-market strategies
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align offerings with market demand
  • Support Delivery & Client Success (Secondary Focus)
  • Partner with delivery teams to ensure successful engagement outcomes
  • Maintain executive-level relationships to identify follow-on opportunities and expansions

Required Skillsets

  • This is a remote position with travel requirements of approximately 25-50%
  • Compensation for this position will be competitive base + performance-based incentive (aligned to revenue generation)
  • Proven Business Development Leadership
  • 15+ years of experience in consulting, technology services, or outsourcing
  • Demonstrated success selling and closing net-new business (hunter profile required)
  • Strong track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets
  • Manufacturing Industry Expertise
  • Deep understanding of Manufacturing operations, value chains, and digital transformation trends
  • Experience selling solutions across:
  • Cloud and infrastructure modernization
  • Automation and intelligent operations
  • Data, analytics, and AI
  • IT sourcing and operating models
  • Executive Presence & Relationship Strength
  • Established network of senior Manufacturing executives
  • Ability to influence and engage C-suite stakeholders
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills
  • Consultative Selling Expertise
  • Experience structuring complex, multi-service consulting engagements
  • Strong commercial acumen, including pricing, financial modeling, and contract negotiation
  • Familiarity with RFP processes and enterprise buying cycles
  • Leadership & Strategic Mindset
  • Ability to operate independently in a high-growth environment
  • Experience collaborating across sales, delivery, and practice leadership teams
  • Contributions to practice development, offerings, or thought leadership preferred

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred
