Role Description This full-time, on-site Staff Nurse role is based in Houston, TX. The Staff Nurse provides direct, compassionate nursing care to clients receiving addiction and mental health treatment, including assessment, medication administration, and monitoring of physical and psychological well-being. Daily responsibilities include documenting care accurately, collaborating with multidisciplinary treatment teams, and supporting safe detox and stabilization processes. The role also involves patient education on treatment plans and recovery strategies, participation in treatment planning meetings, and adherence to all regulatory, safety, and infection control standards. The Staff Nurse helps maintain a therapeutic environment, responds to crises and emergencies, and supports clients and families throughout the treatment process.

Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas and graduation from an accredited nursing program
  • Experience or strong interest in behavioral health, addiction treatment, and co-occurring mental health disorders
  • Demonstrated clinical skills in assessment, medication administration, detox monitoring, and crisis intervention
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team setting
  • Ability to maintain detailed, accurate clinical documentation and follow evidence-based protocols and facility policies
  • Commitment to providing nonjudgmental, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive patient care
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; or other advanced certifications are a plus
  • Flexibility to work assigned shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays as needed
  • Previous experience in inpatient psychiatric, addiction treatment, or medical-surgical nursing is preferred
