Role Description The YouTube Manager will oversee Bar & Bench’s YouTube channel on a full-time remote basis, managing end-to-end video publishing and optimization. This role involves planning a content calendar, coordinating with editorial and production teams, and ensuring that legal news, interviews, and analysis are translated into engaging video formats. The YouTube Manager will handle channel branding, thumbnails, metadata, playlists, and community posts to maximize reach and audience engagement. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring performance metrics, implementing SEO and growth strategies, managing comments and viewer interactions, and collaborating on promotional campaigns across social platforms. The role also includes staying current with YouTube policies, features, and best practices to maintain compliance and drive sustainable channel growth.

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in YouTube channel management, including content scheduling, playlist organization, and optimization of titles, descriptions, and tags.
  • Experience in video strategy and production workflows, including conceptualizing formats, coordinating shoots or recordings, and guiding basic editing requirements.
  • Proficiency in analytics and data-driven decision making, using YouTube Studio and related tools to track performance, identify trends, and refine content strategy.
  • Background in digital marketing and social media, with familiarity in audience growth tactics, cross-platform promotion, and community engagement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex legal or policy topics in accessible, engaging video content.
  • Understanding of or strong interest in law, public policy, or current affairs; prior experience in legal or news media environments is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage deadlines, and collaborate effectively with editorial, design, and technical teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, media studies, journalism, marketing, or a related field preferred but not mandatory; relevant work experience may substitute.
  • Familiarity with basic video editing tools and graphic design for thumbnails is beneficial, as is knowledge of YouTube copyright, monetization, and community guidelines.
