The International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC) is the global valuation standards setter, responsible for developing the global approach to valuation through high quality standards and encouraging professionalism. Valuation is important because it underpins financial reporting, secured lending, capital adequacy, legal disputes, liquidation, M&A, IPOs, tax, compulsory purchase and other purposes.

We are a not-for-profit organisation working in the public interest, with key leaders from valuation professional organisations, major valuation businesses, universities, government departments, some of the largest investors and investment banks in the world, major regulators, and other renowned standard setters. We have over 240 member and sponsor organisations. www.ivsc.org

The organisation is headquartered in London, with regional offices in Singapore and Riyadh, and board members from more than 40 countries.

In line with the KSA Nitaqat approach the IVSC is looking to recruit a Saudi National as an IVSC Middle East and Africa (MEA) Communications Officer, based in Riyadh and reporting to the IVSC MEA Director.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting the implementation of the IVSC’s strategy of outreach towards stakeholders in the Middle East and Africa. These stakeholders include regulators, valuation professional organisations, preparers of valuations, users of valuations, including investors, banks, accountants, academic institutions.
  • Attracting new members and sponsors to the IVSC by generating, contacting and following up on leads.
  • Work closely with the global Director of Communications to manage and ensure effective and coordinated execution for all external communications activity, including through web, email, social media, advertising campaigns and events.
  • Help to facilitate worldwide internal communications within the organisation, including staff, board members and other volunteers.
  • Organising, marketing and hosting physical events and webinars with partner organisations.
  • Conduct market research to assesses the viability of potential future proposals and opportunities.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • University degree (Bachelor or above) with 3+ years relevant working experience.
  • An interest in working for the public good
  • Excellent spoken and written English and Arabic language skills and a strong public speaker.
  • Entrepreneurial skillset and willingness to take initiative to help grow and develop the IVSC across the

Middle East and Africa region.

  • Consultative and communication skills (written & oral) and ability to interface effectively with all internal and external stakeholders and effectively disseminate information.
  • Demonstrated proficiencies in common business applications (Microsoft suite of products (essential); Wordpress; Adobe Creative Suite; Canva (highly sought after)).
  • Able to work in multi-cultural environment.
  • Team player who can operate effectively.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, mostly within Middle East and Africa.
  • Familiarity with valuation, accounting and finance (preferred but not essential)
