The HSEQ Specialist provides in-house Health, Safety, Environment and Quality expertise to support renewable energy projects and operational assets, ensuring the effective implementation of HSEQ requirements during development support, construction and operation phases.

The position aims to prevent occupational and environmental risks, ensure compliance with applicable legislation, permits, corporate standards and certified management systems, and actively contribute to the development of a strong preventive, environmental and quality culture across projects, worksites and operational facilities.

The role combines on-site presence, operational follow-up and management system activities, supporting other teams in relation to H&S, environmental performance, incident management, inspections, audits, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements, thereby enabling efficient day-to-day HSEQ management.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Ensuring that HSEQ requirements are properly embedded in renewable energy projects and operational assets, supporting compliance with applicable legislation, permits, corporate standards and the Management System.
  • Advising project development, construction and asset management teams on practical HSEQ matters, helping them identify unsafe conditions, environmental deviations, quality issues and opportunities for improvement during day-to-day activities.
  • Coordinating and overseing HSEQ requirements with contractors and subcontractors, including the use of digital tools for the Coordination of Business Activities (CAE), contractor documentation control and follow-up of contractor HSEQ performance.
  • Supporting the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of the Management System, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements, procedures, records, internal controls and standardized working practices.
  • Contributing to HSE compliance activities, including the identification and monitorization of applicable legal requirements, permits and corporate obligations, and participation in periodic compliance evaluations for projects and installations.
  • Supporting the fulfilment of Health & Safety requirements for employees, including occupational health surveillance, allocation and control of personal protective equipment, preventive training, and maintenance of the associated records and evidence.
  • Participating in the reporting, investigation and follow-up of accidents, incidents, near misses, environmental events, non-conformities and observations, contributing to root cause analysis and the definition and monitoring of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Supporting the monitoring of HSEQ indicators and reporting activities, including safety performance, environmental performance, action plans, audit results, inspections and lessons learned.
  • Carrying out regular site visits, workplace and installation checks, documenting inspections, observations and findings, and verifying compliance with HSEQ requirements, including emergency preparedness, waste management, environmental controls, signage, housekeeping, equipment condition and operational documentation.
  • Supporting internal and external HSEQ audits, inspections and assessments, preparing documentation, collecting evidence, following up findings and promoting standardization and continuous improvement across company processes.
  • Promoting a strong HSEQ culture through communication, awareness actions, toolbox talks and training support.

Your profile:

  • Official qualification as Occupational Risk Prevention Technician in Spain.
  • University degree in Environmental Sciences, Engineering or other technical disciplines is considered an advantage.
  • Additional training in management systems, especially ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, is considered an advantage.
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in HSEQ management in construction projects and/or operational industrial or infrastructure assets, preferably within the renewable energy sector.
  • Solid knowledge of Spanish Health & Safety and environmental legislation, and experience in its practical application during construction and operational activities.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems, including procedures, records, internal controls, audits, non-conformities, corrective actions and continuous improvement processes.
  • Experience coordinating HSEQ requirements with contractors and subcontractors, including the use of digital tools for CAE and contractor documentation follow-up.
  • Experience conducting site inspections, installation checks and operational follow-up activities, identifying unsafe conditions, environmental deviations, quality issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Experience supporting risk assessments, environmental controls, waste management, emergency preparedness, HSEQ procedures and preventive measures, ensuring their effective implementation in line with the Management System.
  • Experience in accident, incident, near-miss, environmental event and non-conformity investigation, as well as root cause analysis and follow-up of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ability to monitor HSEQ KPIs, prepare reports, manage action plans and maintain evidence for internal reviews, audits and certification processes.
  • Good knowledge of English.
  • Driving license B and availability to travel within Spain according to project needs.
