Aperam S&S USA is seeking a hands-on, organized, and proactive Safety & Technical Manager to support our stainless steel processing facility. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats and thrives in a small manufacturing environment where they can make a direct impact.

This position oversees facility safety/compliance, maintenance coordination, purchasing support, inspections, vendor/contractor management, and operational improvement initiatives for a single-site operation located in Sterling Heights, Michigan.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Compliance

  • Maintain OSHA and regulatory compliance across the facility
  • Manage safety programs, inspections, training, reporting, and documentation
  • Lead incident investigations and corrective actions
  • Coordinate safety committees, audits, and compliance activities
  • Manage contractor safety programs and work permits
  • Oversee PPE programs and safety improvement initiatives

Maintenance & Facility Coordination

  • Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules and inspections
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis activities
  • Manage maintenance vendors and contractors
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and maintenance documentation
  • Support TPM, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives

Purchasing & Operations Support

  • Manage purchasing of production consumables, PPE, shop supplies, and spare parts
  • Create purchase orders and support vendor setup processes
  • Review invoices and support vendor management activities
  • Identify operational cost savings and process improvements

Project Management

  • Support capex and facility improvement projects
  • Coordinate quotations, vendors, implementation, and startup activities

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial operations, facilities, maintenance coordination, or EHS/safety
  • Knowledge of OSHA and manufacturing safety practices
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Experience coordinating vendors and contractors
  • Maintenance coordination or facility support experience preferred
  • TPM, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, or continuous improvement exposure is a plus
  • SAP or CMMS experience is helpful but not required
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in USA without current or future employer sponsorship.

Experience: Manufacturing / Industrial Operations: 3+ years preferred
