PRIMAR DESIGN ENGINEER-

Job Description:

  • Preparation of all Primary Engineering Deliverables. Experience in handling complete Engineering deliverables for AIS & GIS projects, Exposure to International experience & Standards IEC, IEEE.
  • Design of electrical substation facilities including site and bus work layouts, earthing, foundations, controls & protection, metering, and equipment drawings for projects.
  • Substation layouts and section drawings preparation for budgetary offers / tenders / projects based on customer specification.
  • Basic understanding of secondary design aspects of substations, such as CT VT Sizing, Protection & Control schemes, Interlocking, Telecommunication, etc.
  • Adequate understanding of auxiliary design aspects of substations, such as LVAC / LVDC supplies, Cable sizing, Battery & Battery Charger Sizing, etc
  • Prepare, review, and validate Bill of material for tenders or projects based on requirement.
  • Responsible for all design calculations related to Primary Engineering.
  • Grounding system design, drawings, and Bill of Materials.
  • Lightning system design, drawings, BoM and Lighting system design and BoM.
  • Technical data sheets verification of primary equipment. Knowledge of primary equipment, such as circuit breakers, disconnectors, earthing switches, instrument transformers, power transformers, etc
  • FAT / SAT of primary equipment, system as and when needed.
  • Responsible for obtaining customer approvals for the designs and drawings.
  • Take part in customer meetings / site visits for tender/project clarifications.
  • Estimation support such as preparing conceptual drawings, sending enquiries, getting technically compliant and competitive offers from vendors, offer evaluation at tender stage.
  • Site visit for tender support as and when required.

Qualification, Knowledge, Skills, Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Exp 6 to 10 years (Minimum 4+ years exp in substation design)
  • Proficiency in required CAD design tools (MicroStation / AutoCAD), Knowledge of relevant international standards ex: IEEE, IEC etc.
  • Knowledge in substation design engineering activities & tendering support.
  • Broad understanding of Protection and Control (P&C), SAS / SCS / SCADA, Metering, Telecom, Tele-protection.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and develop strong internal and external relationships.
  • Working hours’ flexibility to meet deadlines.
