Project description
The overall objective of this action contributes is to support the protection of the environment, improve its quality and contribute to actions and policies aimed at biodiversity conservation in Serbia.
Job Description
The expert will support the identification, validation, designation and management planning of Natura 2000 sites in Serbia, with a particular focus on bird species and Special Protection Areas (SPAs). Key tasks include reviewing and validating bird datasets, identifying data gaps, supporting targeted field verification where needed, preparing and updating Standard Data Forms (SDFs), and contributing to the preparation of Natura 2000 Management Plans. The expert will also develop bird-specific methodologies for management planning, including the assessment of bird populations and habitats, identification of pressures and threats, definition of conservation objectives, and preparation of management, restoration and monitoring measures. In addition, the expert will provide technical inputs to the upgrade of the Nature Information System, the Legal Gap Assessment and the National Restoration Plan. Where required, the expert may also contribute to the development of CITES permit software and related training.
