Looking for a new and exciting job opportunity? We are seeking a Senior Compensation Consultant , Performance and Job Architecture to join our team!

What You Will Do

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Compensation, with a dotted line reporting relationship to the Manager, Talent Management – Centre of Excellence, the Senior Compensation Consultant, Performance and Job Architecture provides strategic expertise in compensation, job architecture, organizational design, and performance management programs and processes. You will provide leadership in organizational analysis including consultative advice and assistance to management regarding job design/redesign and organizational structure and conduct major reviews.

As Senior Compensation Consultant, Performance and Job Architecture, you will:

  • Support the efficient and accurate administration of the TTC’s job evaluation programs for union and non-union staff within the assigned portfolio.
  • Lead and /or undertake a variety of compensation research in the development and implementation of compensation policies, procedures, processes, strategies and communication tools.
  • Analyze workforce and organizational structures to support talent mobility and career progression
  • Conduct salary/wage administration and policy administration support for non-union staff and unionized employees.
  • Support the design of the performance management process and tools providing expert guidance and consultation in especially areas of performance evaluation
  • Develop and maintain the organization's job architecture framework, including job families, career streams, levels, and role classifications.
  • Prepare recommendations, reports and business cases for senior leadership
  • Monitor market trends and emerging practices in compensation, performance management and job architecture
  • Partner with Talent Management, Employee Relations, HRIS, and TTC leaders for alignment of compensation, performance and job architecture programs
  • Provide developmental/maintenance support for HRIS/Compensation systems.
  • Lead and participate in section projects related to Compensation/Organizational Design/Performance Management.
  • Review position management changes, through the Workforce Change Requests (WCR) submitted by assigned portfolio departments.
  • Be required to participate in the TTC's Customer Service Ambassador Program.

What Qualifications Do You Bring?

  • Your educational background including completion of a University degree, or College Diploma in a related discipline (i.e. Human Resources), along with relevant experience, OR a combination of education, training, and deemed to be equivalent is integral and will contribute to the success in this role.
  • Previous experience in a unionized environment is a strong asset.
  • A Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation is also an asset.
  • Your application will also demonstrate in-depth knowledge of compensation principles, concepts, practices, and processes, including but not limited to job evaluation, pay levels/bands, salary schedules, salary/wage administration principles, pay equity, etc.
  • Your comprehensive knowledge of principles and practices relating to organizational design, combined with a thorough awareness of the relationship of compensation administration to related human resources functions such as recruitment, training and employee relations is required.
  • Proven experience developing and maintaining the organization’s job architecture framework, including job families, career streams, levels, and role classifications.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of compensation issues and legislation related to area responsibility is required.
  • Experience in the development, implementation, and usage of an HRIS system such as SAP, Oracle, or similar
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills; sound knowledge of research and quantitative methods and techniques
  • Your application will also demonstrate excellent project management skills.
  • Strong computing skills, including MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel for statistical analysis and presentations is required.
