The Position

Reporting to a Mine Technical Services Supervisor, the Mine Tech is accountable for providing technical support in a surface and underground environment to ensure safe and cost-effective production. The successful candidate will be a technology orientated individual that may work in the areas of survey, ventilation and mine systems, mine design, mine planning, and ground control, along with a team of technicians, technologists, engineers and production personnel.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out measurements, calculations, designs, and inspections underground with an emphasis on in-field troubleshooting, problem solving, and incorporating technology into their daily tasks;
• Prepare safe and accurate mine designs, various mining prints, and mine plans and schedules.
• Actively participate in weekly and monthly safety meetings, as well as all safety programs and initiatives

Skills And Qualifications

• A Technician or Technologist diploma in mining, civil, instrumentation or related trade
• Advanced computer skills with emphasis on Excel, CAD, and databasing
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Experience with 3D modeling, and mine scheduling software packages will be considered an asset.
• Must be comfortable around cutting-edge modern mining technology and instrumentation (automated equipment, mobile devices, UAVs etc.)

Compensation And Benefits

Competitive total compensation package including:

• Company contributions and matching into a Defined Contribution Pension Plan; and
• Annual compensation of CAD$70,000 to CAD$87,000
