Systems Administrator
Our client is a publicly traded company with a strong local presence and national scale. They offer a stable, growth-oriented environment where IT plays a critical role in keeping operations running. This is a hybrid role but nearly fully remote, based in the greater Phoenix, AZ area, with occasional local data center travel to the Phoenix site. All candidates must already reside in the greater Phoenix metro and be U.S. citizens!
What You'll Do
- Administer, support, and monitor Microsoft Windows Server environments, enterprise storage, VMware/VM infrastructure, and Office 365
- Perform root-cause analysis on recurring issues; own resolution end-to-end, escalating internally or externally as needed
- Research, evaluate, and help select infrastructure solutions, equipment, and software
- Manage projects tied to new implementations and upgrades to existing systems
- Follow change control procedures for all production environment changes
- Support capacity planning, performance tuning, and compliance reporting
- Maintain and enforce corporate hardware/software standards
- Provide after-hours support as needed; resolve escalations from the Service Desk
- Take on additional responsibilities as priorities shift
What You'll Bring
- 3+ years of hands-on systems administration experience in an enterprise environment
- Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server, VMware, Azure, Microsoft 365, and backup/data protection solutions
- Familiarity with cloud or remote storage, general networking, patching, and endpoint management
- Azure certification (or MCSE) strongly preferred — Azure-focused certs are a plus
- Excellent ownership instincts — you take tasks from start to finish and keep stakeholders informed
- Strong communication and customer service skills; comfortable navigating ambiguity with good judgment
- A genuine "all-in" mentality — this role rewards people who care deeply about doing the job right, not just clocking hours
- Must be local to the Phoenix metro area and able to meet in person periodically (roughly 4–6x per year)
