Background
The company sources, processes, and distributes regulated health products across Europe. It's the market leader in its category, vertically integrated, and growing fast - growing year-on-year in both revenue and customers, while remaining profitable. Scale and licensing make it difficult for smaller competitors to follow.
Spain plays a critical role in their European supply chain, with most of their product moving through the country at some stage. The company is building a new hub in Alicante to take a more strategic position in that supply chain.
What this role is
They're hiring a Senior Software Engineer to lead the build of a brand new system, sitting on top of their existing infrastructure, that gives full batch-level visibility across the entire EU supply chain - tracking product from origin, through processing, through shipping, to final sale.
This isn't an internal-only platform. The plan is for this system to scale into an external product, sold to third parties who need the same kind of visibility into their own supply chains.
You'll work in the company's existing stack - Python, TypeScript, React, AWS.
As the first technical hire on the ground in Spain, the team will be built around you. The plan is to bring in one or two mid-level engineers to support you as the build progresses. The company keeps its teams deliberately lean.
