AFLALO
Accounting Manager
About Us
AFLALO is a luxury women's apparel brand in a high-growth phase, selling across e-commerce, retail, and wholesale. We're building our finance organization for the next stage of that growth, and we're looking for an Accounting Manager to own the accounting function and help build the financial backbone of the company.
The Role
This is a high-ownership, high-impact role for someone who wants to build rather than maintain. You'll own AFLALO's full accounting cycle end to end — revenue, inventory and COGS, payroll, the GL, and the monthly close — and you'll have a direct hand in shaping how it all runs as we migrate from QuickBooks to NetSuite and stand up scalable processes across a multi-channel business. You'll work closely with Finance leadership, with real visibility into how the company is run. This is a remote role. Candidates based in the New York City area are welcome to work from our NYC office if they prefer.
What You'll Own
- Revenue & AR — Own revenue and receivables accounting across all channels, including the adjustments that keep gross-to-net reporting accurate
- Inventory & COGS — Own the inventory and COGS cycle end to end
- Payroll & Sales Compensation — Manage payroll and the commission accounting
- AP - Own the end-to-end accounts payable process in Ramp, including bill entry, approval routing, payment execution, and coding to the general ledger.
- GL, Close & Balance Sheet — Own day-to-day transaction processing, reconciliations, accruals, intercompany and debt accounting, and a clean, timely monthly close
- Reporting & Analysis — Prepare financial statements and management reporting, and deliver analysis that helps leadership make decisions.
- Systems & Process — Play a central role in our ERP implementation, build the workflows and controls that let accounting scale, and adopt AI-powered tools that reduce manual work across the function - from reconciliations to reporting
Who You Are
- Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CPA-track preferred.
- 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong command of GAAP, the monthly close, and financial reporting.
- Comfortable owning a function independently in a lean environment — you're as happy in the details as you are improving the system around them.
- Experience with NetSuite, QuickBooks, Ramp, or Gusto is a plus; consumer, retail, or e-commerce experience strongly preferred.
- A builder's mindset: you see a messy or manual process and want to fix it, not just run it.
- Comfortable leveraging AI tools to work faster and eliminate repetitive work
