Autocad Designer

Title : CAD Designer (Fire alarm designer) # 1009803

Location: Bradenton Florida 34202 (Remote is acceptable Contract)

Rate: 25-32/hr.

Contract: 6 months contract to hire.

Fire alarm designer (Minimum 2 years’ experience in fire alarm design). FireCAD/AutoCAD/REVIT experience. NICET certified is a plus.

This would not be a draftsperson but rather a designer who has experience and a very limited learning curve. The experience requirement is not absolute but should be reasonably weighted.

Role Description:

This senior level position provides services to our customers in the form of design drawings, submittal packages, as-built drawings and completion documents for Edwards systems. Customers can be our distributors or other businesses who are facilitating Edwards system designs and installations. System sizes range from small commercial facilities to multi-million square foot facilities with an emphasis on large-scale systems for this position.

Responsibilities

• Conduct meetings to determine scope of work for creation of system design proposals.
• Direct field engineers in performing site surveys to gather needed information to allow creation of system design.
• Conduct Code Calls with the AHJ to determine system requirements.
• Creation of system design drawings using FireCAD.
• Creation of submittal packages with an emphasis on details and completeness of information.
• Respond to RFI from prospective installation companies regarding system design.
• Create and manage completion package for systems including as-built drawings, records of completion and other close-out documents.
• Provide Engineering services for other related systems which may including Air Sampling Systems, EASE Sound Modeling software and others.
• Evaluate existing systems to determine migration and upgrade paths.

The ideal candidate would have the following:

• Bachelor’s Degree in computer Aided Design or AutoDesk certified Expert.
• 2+ years experience in CAD
• Familiarity with smoke control systems, air sampling systems and sound modeling.
• experience with products
