About the Opportunity

AD Energy Recruitment is partnering with an innovative renewable energy business that develops, commissions and operates anaerobic digestion and renewable natural gas (RNG) facilities across North America.

We are seeking an experienced Operations Specialist to join a highly skilled operations team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving and working on technically challenging projects. Rather than being based at a single facility, you'll travel between operating sites, supporting commissioning activities, optimising plant performance, troubleshooting operational issues and providing technical leadership wherever it is needed.

The Role

As the Operations Specialist, you will act as a technical expert across multiple anaerobic digestion and gas upgrading facilities, supporting operations throughout the entire project lifecycle, from commissioning through to optimisation and, where required, decommissioning.

Working closely with Operations Managers, Project Managers and site teams, you'll ensure facilities operate safely, efficiently and reliably while helping develop best practices across the wider business. Safety, operational excellence and continuous improvement will be at the heart of everything you do.

Key Responsibilities

• Support commissioning, start-up and operational readiness of new biogas and RNG facilities.
• Travel to operating sites to provide technical expertise and operational support.
• Operate, maintain and optimise anaerobic digestion, gas upgrading and gas conditioning equipment.
• Lead troubleshooting activities to identify and resolve mechanical, electrical and process issues.
• Analyse plant performance data and recommend operational improvements.
• Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to site operators and technicians.
• Support third-party contractors and oversee maintenance activities where required.
• Produce operational reports, maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with company procedures.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure environmental and regulatory compliance at every site.
• Work collaboratively with engineering and operations teams to improve reliability and performance across the asset portfolio.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced operations professional with a strong technical background in renewable natural gas, biogas, natural gas processing or a related industrial process environment.

You'll ideally have:

• 5+ years' experience within gas processing, RNG, biogas or industrial process operations.
• Strong knowledge of anaerobic digestion and gas upgrading systems.
• Experience working with compressors, filtration systems, pressure control equipment and gas measurement systems.
• Working knowledge of PLCs, HMIs and industrial control systems.
• Experience reading and interpreting P&IDs and engineering drawings.
• Strong mechanical, electrical and instrumentation troubleshooting skills.
• A proactive, safety-first mindset with excellent communication skills.
• The flexibility to travel extensively across North America and respond to operational support requirements when needed.
• A valid driver's licence.
