Legal Counsel - Airport IT

Summary

This role provides end-to-end legal support across the full contract lifecycle in a technology environment. You will negotiate and manage complex IT agreements, including software, SaaS, and cloud solutions, assess legal risks, support public tenders, and provide clear, business-oriented legal advice. The role also covers post-signature contract management, handling claims, and ensuring documentation, templates, and processes are aligned with legal standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal support in negotiating technology contracts (software, SaaS, PaaS/IaaS, hardware, licensing, development, support and maintenance), including drafting documentation and identifying key risks;
  • Lead or support contract negotiations and manage agreements for the business unit;
  • Review public tender documentation and prepare bid responses, including contract deviations and escalations;
  • Advise on business opportunities by assessing legal risks and preparing executive summaries for decision-making;
  • Provide clear legal advice and practical solutions to support business needs;
  • Implement and enforce legal procedures across pre-sales, sales, delivery, and post-signature phases;
  • Manage post-signature activities, including contract interpretation, amendments, and ongoing contract management;
  • Handle customer complaints and claims, including investigation and settlement coordination;
  • Maintain and update legal documentation, templates, and databases in line with legal developments and best practices;
  • Represent the company in legal proceedings where applicable;
  • Research legislation, precedents, and legal trends impacting contracts, tenders, and customer onboarding;
  • Act as a legal subject matter expert, guiding stakeholders and supporting less experienced colleagues;
  • Influence business strategy through strong understanding of the legal and commercial environment;
  • Translate strategy into actionable plans and monitor key objectives;
  • Work independently and coordinate projects or teams when needed, acting as a quality and best practices reference.

About The Ideal Candidate

  • 5–7 years of relevant legal experience, ideally within a law firm or the legal department of an international company;
  • Prior experience in an IT or technology multinational environment is highly desirable;
  • Solid understanding of public tenders and bid processes;
  • Proven experience in contract negotiation and drafting;
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (both mandatory).
