Role Description The VP IT Audit is a part-time, remote role responsible for overseeing the audit and assessment of information technology environments, controls, and processes. This position leads the planning and execution of IT audit projects, evaluates risks, and recommends improvements to strengthen governance, security, and operational efficiency. The role includes collaborating with IT and business leaders to review systems, applications, and infrastructure, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and regulatory expectations. The VP IT Audit also develops audit methodologies, prepares clear reports and presentations for senior leadership, and supports continuous improvement of IT policies, standards, and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Information Technology with experience assessing systems, infrastructure, and controls.
  • Proven IT Management skills, including oversight of teams, vendors, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Ability to define and execute IT Strategy that supports organizational goals and risk management objectives.
  • Demonstrated Project Management experience, including planning, tracking, and delivering audit-related projects.
  • Strategic Planning skills to evaluate long-term technology risks and opportunities and translate them into actionable audit plans.
  • Experience in IT audit, risk management, or IT governance (e.g., internal audit, external audit, or consulting) is highly beneficial.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISA, CISSP, CRISC, or PMP are preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings clearly.
  • Comfort working independently in a remote setting and collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholders.
