Job Description – Industrial Mechanic / Equipment Painter / Welder

Department: Manufacturing / Fabrication / Maintenance

Reports To: Production Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary

Ammann America Inc. is seeking a skilled, dependable, and motivated Industrial Mechanic / Equipment Painter / Welder to support manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, maintenance, and finishing operations. This position is responsible for assembling and repairing industrial equipment, performing MIG and Stick welding in all positions, and preparing and applying industrial coatings while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and productivity.

Mechanical Assembly & Maintenance

• Inspect, build, assemble, and repair industrial machinery and equipment.

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems.

• Disassemble and reassemble machinery components.

• Install bearings, seals, motors, gear reducers, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical components.

• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and read mechanical drawings, schematics, and manuals.

Welding & Fabrication

• Perform MIG (GMAW) and Stick (SMAW) welding in all positions.

• Read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.

• Set up and adjust welding equipment.

• Cut, drill, grind, fit, and prepare materials.

• Inspect welds for quality and code compliance.

Painting & Surface Preparation

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, grinding, and masking.

• Mix and apply industrial coatings using spray equipment.

• Perform touch-ups and ensure proper curing and finish quality.

Safety & Quality

• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.

• Wear required PPE and safely handle paints, chemicals, and welding materials.

• Maintain a clean, organized work area using 5S principles.

• Complete production and quality documentation.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Minimum three (3) years of experience in industrial manufacturing, fabrication, maintenance, or welding.

• Proficient in MIG and Stick welding.

• Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.

• Ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, welding symbols, and technical manuals.

• Experience with industrial spray painting equipment.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical certification or apprenticeship in Industrial Maintenance.

• AWS or equivalent welding certification.

• Experience with ARC gouging and Flux-Core welding.

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 50 pounds.

• Stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work in industrial environments for extended periods.

• Work around heat, sparks, dust, paint fumes, welding fumes, and noise.
