Role Description The Managing Director is a full-time, on-site role based in New York, NY, responsible for leading client engagements across capital advisory, GP solutions, and management consulting. This individual will oversee deal origination and execution, including fundraising mandates, co-investments, secondaries, restructuring projects, and strategic transactions, while maintaining strong relationships with alternative investment managers, family offices, and institutional investors. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and presenting advisory strategies, guiding portfolio operations and business transformation initiatives, and providing hands-on leadership in governance, fiduciary matters, and interim executive support when needed. The Managing Director will lead cross-functional teams, mentor junior professionals, contribute to firm-wide thought leadership, and support the growth of the Carey Brothers & Company platform through business development and partnership expansion. The role requires regular collaboration with Co-CEOs and senior stakeholders to refine service offerings and deliver high-impact, tailored solutions to clients.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in alternative investments, including private equity, venture capital, and family office advisory, with a strong track record in capital formation and fundraising.
• Demonstrated expertise in GP solutions, co-investments, secondaries, restructuring, governance, and fiduciary services, with the ability to design and implement bespoke advisory strategies.
• Proficiency in transaction services and M&A advisory, including strategic planning, business transformation, financial planning, and portfolio operations.
• Strong management consulting capabilities, covering operational consulting, organizational change, and performance improvement for investment managers and portfolio companies.
• Proven leadership skills, including leading multidisciplinary teams, mentoring talent, and providing interim executive support such as fractional CFO or interim CEO/COO responsibilities.
• Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills for working with founders, investment managers, institutional investors, and board members.
