POSITION OVERVIEW
A Production Assistant must ensure that the quality of the manufacturing process and the finished products is up to the Company standards. You will be responsible for packing the stock produced by the operators according to the Company SOP and preparing the stock for receiving by the logistics team. The Production Assistant reports to the Quality & Technical Operations Manager on all quality and waste matters related to the production.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor production operations to ensure that they meet quality standards.
- Inspect, test, and measure the finished products.
- Accept or reject finished products.
- Pack the finished products and prepare for receiving (ability to lift up to 25 kg is a must);
- Control and complete the job cards for receiving in SAP.
- Drive and assist with Housekeeping in the production plant.
- Drive quality awareness with the operators.
- Report on inspection data to the Quality & Technical Operations Manager.
- Ensure the quantity produced and received is handed over, and Logistics confirms the Qty received.
- Assist with washing Ink trays out on the colour machines on behalf of the Colour Operators
- Check material quality and expiry dates.
- Perform a comprehensive QC on selected orders (Advanced QC);
- Control all aspects of the finished goods (i.e., rolls, packaging, and labelling);
- Ensure all baby labels are on the rolls and the correct labels are applied to products and boxes.
- Control the correctness, accuracy, and thoroughness of job cards information prior to receipt from production by Logistics.
