JCW Group has partnered with an innovative technology company to hire a Simulation Software Engineer within their software engineering function. This is a senior, hands-on engineering role, where you'll build the core software foundation that powers simulation-based systems for specialty domains. It's an excellent opportunity for an experienced software engineer looking to develop high-performance, production-grade services that deliver reproducible and traceable results for both enterprise and mainstream users.
Position Overview
- Own the development of the core software foundation behind simulation-based systems built for specialty domains
- Deliver high-performance computation services, workflow orchestration, and enterprise-grade integrations
- Produce outputs that are reproducible and traceable, and that serve both enterprise and mainstream users
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement product features and workflows in C++/Python, including numerical routines, algorithms, and user interfaces
- Build orchestration for multi-step workflows, covering project state, job execution, persistence, and versioning
- Implement robust API contracts and data schemas for results, metadata, and provenance
- Integrate with enterprise data sources, cloud-based systems, and GPUs
- Engineer for production quality across testing, performance profiling, reliability patterns, observability, secure coding, and maintainability
Must-Have Qualifications
- 10+ years of production software development experience, with a BS/MS in CS, CE, EE, or an equivalent field
- Strong C/C++ and Python experience, paired with a solid foundation in data structures and algorithms.
- AI-assisted programming and testing
- Experience in UI and UX development
- Experience designing, implementing, and operating backend services (REST/gRPC), along with CI/CD and automated testing
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Geometry/CAD ingestion or computational geometry, which is useful in shape-driven analysis
- SaaS and cloud-based development and testing
- GPU acceleration, AI agents, and models
- Hybrid interactive and batch execution patterns
