Role Description This contract, on-site Tax Professional role is based in Philadelphia, PA. The Tax Professional will meet with clients in person to gather financial information, review prior-year returns, and assess tax situations. Responsibilities include preparing and filing individual tax returns, providing tax planning guidance, and ensuring compliance with current tax laws and regulations. The role involves explaining complex tax concepts in clear, accessible language, answering client questions, and identifying potential deductions and credits. The Tax Professional will also maintain accurate documentation, adhere to H&R Block quality and confidentiality standards, and collaborate with colleagues to deliver consistent, client-focused service during the tax season and any extended engagement period.

Qualifications

  • Strong tax preparation skills, including experience with individual Tax returns and related documentation.
  • Knowledge of Tax Planning and the ability to advise clients on strategies to optimize their tax positions.
  • Solid understanding of Tax Law and regulations, with the ability to apply rules accurately and ethically.
  • Background in Finance or related fields, with competency in analyzing financial data and client records.
  • Relevant certifications such as Enrolled Agent (EA), CPA, or completion of formal tax training programs preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work on-site in Philadelphia, PA, including evenings and weekends as needed during peak tax season.
