United Global RoRo is looking for an AI Architect to help transform our digital vision into scalable and production-ready AI solutions.
This role will be responsible for designing the architecture, guiding technology selection, and managing the lifecycle of AI/ML solutions across fleet operations, voyage and port operations, sustainability initiatives, and decision support systems.
The AI Architect will act as a bridge between business objectives and technical capabilities while providing technical leadership to the AI team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and define UGR's end-to-end AI architecture aligned with business goals and IT strategy.
- Lead the technical design of digital AI modules including fleet intelligence, voyage and port operations, sustainability analytics, simulation, and decision support systems.
- Assess data quality and data readiness while identifying data engineering requirements for AI initiatives.
- Design scalable and reproducible workflows for model training, validation, deployment, and monitoring.
- Establish standards for model governance, version control, documentation, performance monitoring, and drift detection.
- Develop AI architectures for use cases such as ETA optimization, port waiting time prediction, fuel consumption optimization, and emissions analytics.
- Evaluate and select AI frameworks, platforms, and technologies based on scalability, cost, and compliance requirements.
- Design AI integration architectures with existing enterprise systems and applications.
- Collaborate with information security and compliance teams to ensure alignment with KVKK, ISO 27001, and other security standards.
- Identify and mitigate AI-specific risks including model bias, hallucinations, adversarial inputs, and regulatory compliance gaps.
- Conduct architectural reviews and provide technical leadership and mentorship to AI Engineers.
- Guide cloud and on-premise infrastructure requirements for training and inference workloads.
- Present technical concepts and architectural decisions to executives and non-technical stakeholders.
- Continuously monitor emerging AI trends and technologies to keep UGR's AI roadmap competitive and future-ready.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field. Master's degree or higher is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Architecture, or related roles with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Proven experience delivering AI/ML solutions from prototype to production environments.
- Strong understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning concepts, and model evaluation techniques such as RMSE, MAE, MAPE, and R².
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG architectures, Agentic AI, Multi-Agent Systems, and MCP frameworks.
- Experience designing AI infrastructure and deploying solutions on cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure, as well as AWS or GCP.
- Familiarity with data engineering principles, data pipelines, and data governance practices.
- Solid software engineering background including APIs, integration patterns, and design principles.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- English proficiency is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience in the maritime, shipping, or logistics sector is considered a strong advantage.
