Job Description – Network Survey / Hands & Feet Support Engineer

Number of Engineers Required: 1 Engineer
Scope of Work
1. Site Access & Security Verification
Register site entry and comply with local access procedures.
Verify site access requirements, restrictions, and escort policies.
2. Location Documentation
Capture GPS coordinates of the site.
Identify and photograph the main network demarcation point.
Document the location of the communications/server room.
3. Cable Route Assessment
Measure and document the distance between the demarcation point and the communications room.
Record cable routing details and identify any installation constraints.
4. Network Rack Assessment
Document rack information including:
Rack ID
Rack Height
Occupied and Available Rack Space (U)
Installed Device Types
Verify rack condition and stability.
Capture clear photographs of racks and associated equipment.
5. Floor Space & Power Readiness Check
Measure available floor space for future installations.
Verify power availability, UPS systems, cooling infrastructure, and grounding facilities.
6. Network Device Inventory
Record all WAN and LAN devices present onsite.
Document ports, interfaces, patch panels, and connectivity details.
Capture photographs of network equipment where required.
7. Compliance & Operational Assessment
Identify change freeze periods and site compliance requirements.
Verify access control procedures and delivery capabilities.
Document local language preferences, operational restrictions, and potential risks.
