Role Description The Grants Writer is a remote, contract role responsible for identifying, developing, and preparing funding proposals that advance the Root Nine Foundation and Institute’s programs and strategic priorities. Day-to-day tasks include researching prospective funders, reviewing guidelines and eligibility criteria, and drafting clear, compelling grant applications, concept notes, and letters of inquiry. The role involves collaborating with program staff to gather data, budgets, and narratives, aligning proposals with funder interests and organizational goals. The Grants Writer will maintain a grants calendar, track deadlines, and support post-submission follow-up, including responding to funder questions and assisting with reporting requirements. This position requires consistent communication via virtual channels, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and timelines independently.
