About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Supply Chain Assistant to support our clients Supply Chain Manager in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a varied, hands-on role where you will work closely with sales, production, finance, and technical teams to ensure the smooth flow of goods, services, and materials across the business. You will play a key role in purchasing, stock control, and supplier coordination, helping maintain accurate inventory levels and ensuring that materials are available to meet production and customer demand.
Key Responsibilities
- Raise, place, and track purchase orders for goods and service
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials
- Support supplier sourcing activities, including obtaining and comparing quotes
- Assist in maintaining up-to-date cost information
- Support the monitoring of supplier performance, including quality, service, and pricing
- Maintain supplier records and assist with onboarding new suppliers
- Communicate effectively with suppliers to resolve issues and ensure continuity of supply
- Maintain accurate stock records using the TROPOS system
- Process goods in/out and manage stock adjustments
- Support stock checks, reconciliations, and inventory accuracy
- Assist in ensuring appropriate stock levels and replenishment
- Ensure stock is correctly located and rotated in line with operational requirement
- Reconcile delivery notes and invoices to ensure accuracy of stock and financial data
- Maintain accurate records and ensure data integrity across systems
- Provide administrative and reporting support to the Supply Chain Manager
- Support the tracking of ethanol movements and related reporting requirements
- Ensure processes are followed in line with company procedures and compliance standards
Key Skills and Experience:
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Good numeracy and attention to detail
- A proactive and practical approach to problem solving
- Ability to follow processes and maintain accurate records
- A positive, flexible attitude and willingness to support the wider-team
- Experience with ERP systems, ideally TROPOS, is advantagaous
- Understanding of manufacturing or production environments is desirable
