Note: Although this role is mainly remote, candidates must be physically based in LA as client onsites are required as needed throughout the project journey.

Hanna Li Interiors is looking to immediately hire a Sr Interior Designer with excellent technical skills on a part-time, contract basis. The ideal candidate is someone who can partner with us long term, with weekly hours ranging from 15-20 on a normal week, and up to 30-35 on a heavy week.

You will be joining our team as an Independent Contractor, supporting both our Construction and Furnishings projects, with a primary focus on residential renovations. We're looking for a Senior Designer with extensive experience leading construction projects from the design side—someone who is confident collaborating with contractors, designing kitchens and bathrooms, selecting architectural materials and finishes, understanding the construction process, managing client relationships, and carrying a design vision through to execution.

While technical expertise and project leadership are essential, we're equally invested in helping you grow within our studio. Our goal is to cultivate your eye for our aesthetic and design philosophy so that, with the guidance and support of our core team, you can confidently execute projects that reflect the Hanna Li Interiors design ethos.

Pay Range: $45 - $75 per hour, depending on experience.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a top design/art institution
  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience in residential interior design, 5-7 years preferred
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (required), Adobe Creative Suite, Google Docs & Sheets, 3D rendering software skills a plus
  • Deep knowledge & understanding of Construction, Build Process, Contractor management, Kitchen & Bath & Home Office designs
  • Proficiency in interior design history, styles, furniture, current trends, and an eye for design & taste
  • Good sense layout, spatial rules, architectural drawings, and design principles
  • Excellent oral & written communication
