We are seeking an experienced Technical Recruiter to lead the growth of our engineering organisation, partnering with hiring managers to identify, attract and hire outstanding talent across software, hardware and manufacturing disciplines. This role will also support broader hiring across the business as the company continues to grow.

The Opportunity
This is not a traditional recruitment role.
We are looking for someone who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments and understands how to build talent functions that scale. You will be responsible for managing the full recruitment lifecycle while helping establish the processes, systems, data and talent pipelines that enable the business to hire quickly without compromising quality.
You'll have significant autonomy, work directly with senior leadership and play a key role in shaping the future of the company through the people we hire.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end recruitment across technical and corporate functions.
- Primarily recruit software engineers, hardware engineers, manufacturing engineers and other highly technical positions.
- Support hiring across additional business functions including operations, finance, sales and corporate teams as required.
- Develop and execute proactive sourcing strategies to identify exceptional passive candidates.
- Manage advertising campaigns across multiple recruitment platforms to attract high-quality applicants.
- Build and maintain strong talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs.
- Conduct high volumes of structured screening interviews while maintaining exceptional candidate quality.
- Partner closely with hiring managers to define role requirements, interview processes and hiring strategies.
- Deliver an outstanding candidate experience throughout every stage of the recruitment process.
- Utilise data and recruitment analytics to continuously improve hiring performance, speed and quality.
- Build scalable recruitment processes, documentation and reporting that support rapid organisational growth.
- Ensure consistency, fairness and high standards across every hiring process.
- Support employer branding initiatives and represent Powerus professionally within the market.
- Continually identify opportunities to improve hiring efficiency through technology, automation and AI-enabled recruitment tools.
Experience & Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience recruiting within fast-growing startup or scale-up environments.
- Proven track record recruiting software, hardware and manufacturing engineering talent.
- Experience managing multiple technical recruitment campaigns simultaneously while maintaining exceptional quality.
- Strong experience with both direct sourcing and advertised recruitment strategies.
- Extensive experience using LinkedIn Recruiter and other sourcing platforms to identify passive candidates.
- Experience building structured interview processes and managing high-volume interview pipelines.
- Strong understanding of Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), recruitment reporting and talent analytics.
- Experience developing scalable recruitment processes and operational best practices.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively and manage competing demands within a rapidly changing environment.
- Outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience recruiting within aerospace, defence or defence technology organisations is highly desirable.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
