Job Title: CAD Designer III

Location: 100% Remote (EST/CST Preferred)

Duration: Until Dec 2026 (with a possibility of extension)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced CAD Designer III to support the closeout phase of a major natural gas compression project. This role is focused on updating and finalizing engineering record drawings by incorporating construction redlines into final as-built documentation. The ideal candidate will have strong MicroStation experience and a background in piping and/or electrical design within the utilities, energy, or industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Update and finalize approximately 200 engineering record drawings using MicroStation.
  • Convert construction redlines into accurate final record (as-built) drawings.
  • Review existing engineering drawings and incorporate field changes into final documentation.
  • Prepare mechanical piping, P&ID, isometric, electrical one-line, and three-line drawings.
  • Collaborate with project engineers and technical reviewers to ensure drawing accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain drawing quality, consistency, and documentation standards throughout the project closeout process.
  • Support engineering documentation and record management activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or certification in Drafting, Design Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of CAD drafting/design experience.
  • Strong proficiency with MicroStation (required).
  • Experience preparing and revising engineering drawings using construction redlines.
  • Knowledge of mechanical piping and/or electrical design drawings.
  • Ability to interpret engineering markups and produce high-quality record drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the utilities, natural gas, pipeline, midstream, or oil & gas industries.
  • Familiarity with compressor stations or other industrial facilities.
  • Experience with record drawings, as-built documentation, and project closeout activities.
  • Exposure to P&IDs, piping layouts, mechanical isometrics, and electrical one-line/three-line diagrams.

Work Environment:

  • 100% Remote (Candidates located in the Eastern or Central Time Zone are preferred).
  • Collaborative engineering team supporting project closeout activities.
