Are you a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to build your experience in Energy Management? We are looking for an Energy Management Intern to join a dynamic team and gain hands-on exposure to energy performance monitoring, reporting, and operational support.

Purpose of the Role

The Energy Management Intern will support the team with basic data handling, reporting, and administrative tasks, while learning how energy performance is monitored and managed. The intern will work under the supervision and guidance of the Energy Management Officer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with data collection and validation for energy production and consumption
  • Help with monthly energy budget tracking
  • Conduct basic market research on energy trends and regulatory updates
  • Maintain structured documentation and assist with best practice sharing
  • Assist with curtailment Deemed Energy Payment (DEP) calculation verifications
  • Support tracking of O&M needs and GCC processes, including updates to NERSA, RETEC, ZESCO, and ERB
  • Assist with IPP Office generation reports
  • Facilitate NMD exceedance exemption applications
  • Ensure reporting of curtailments, outages, and adherence to timelines
  • Assist with training site teams on data requirements for DEP calculations, system event reporting, and AGUP hour tracking

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Basic understanding of data analysis and reporting
  • Comfortable working with numbers and quantitative data
  • Willingness to learn internal Energy Management systems and tools
  • Have basic programming (languages SQL,VBS and Python). Have strong knowledge of Excel and Power BI.
  • Electrical background is an advantage.

Qualifications

  • Degree / Diploma in Engineering, Business Administration, Data Science, Finance, or a related field
